Historic Roots

3850 Main Street was built in 1922 as the world headquarters and main factory for the Fuller Brush Company. Founder, Alfred Fuller, got his start designing the first brush using a hand operated wire-twisting machine, spools of wire, horse hair, fibers, and hog bristles in his sister’s basement. He worked nights and weekends, studied the needs of his target consumer (an innovation of the time), and literally pounded the pavement. He was known as the creator of the iconic door-to-door salesman. He was a suit-and-tie man who never hesitated to get his hands dirty.
